Tech Chat | What is RTK bridge & how to use it?

When releasing the SV100 GNSS receiver with RTK bridge function, some users are curious about this function. What is the RTK bridge? Why do we need it and how to use it?

RTK bridge is a network to radio station, which receives the differential data from the CORS via 4G and broadcasts it to the site via radio at the same time. Usually if the project has only one network CORS account and wants multiple surveyors to share it. In this situation, SV100 can be used as the transfer mode, and the network signal can be received and transmitted by the radio station to realize the one-to-many working mode.

Also, if there are not enough on-site SIM cards, you can select this mode. For example, if the customer wants to use the network and has 5 receivers but only 1 SIM card, then the RTK bridge function can be used. The SIM card can be inserted into the SV100 to receive the data of the base station, and the RTK bridge function can be activated. Then the other receivers without SIM cards can receive the signals of the base station through the radio. Then work on it. This will greatly reduce the cost and time.

How to set the RTK bridge?

The RTK bridge can be connected from a computer to an SV100 receiver and set up via a Web page.

1. Firstly, search for the WiFi of the device through the computer. The WiFi name is the same as the SN number of the device. And then make the connection.

2. In the address box of the browser, enter the device IP address: 192.168.1.1 to log in to the device configuration page.

3、Device Configuration >> Working Mode, set receiver as a base station.

4、Work Management>>Ntrip transmission>>Ntrip Client

Enter IP address, Port, User name and Pass word of CORS, click Get List to acquire the Mount Point list, Choose one of mount point、check startup and click OK button, you will receive correction data from CORS.

5、Work Management>>Radio transmission>>Radio RTK Bridge

Choose mode as transmit and set protocol, channel, diff data type, set power, low power or high power, power is higher, the server range is bigger. Finally, check startup and click OK, and the receivers can receive the signal from base station.
