Tech Chat | An optimal solution for single continuous operation base station
Nowadays, more and more farmers or surveyors want to set up a continuous operation base station for their rovers working in a specific area, such as auto-steering systems in a farm field or GNSS receivers in a construction site.
For this situation, there are some things we need to consider. On one hand, compared with CORS, they don't need to set up a reference station network, so the Ntrip caster will be much more convenient than a CORS platform. On the other hand, to apply a static IP maybe more expensive or limited to local policy, so the DDNS would be a better choice.
In today's blog, we will provide an optimal solution for you - set up Ntrip Caster with DDNS
Preparation
- A SV100 GNSS receiver
- A dynamic domain name
- A router and broadband that supports dynamic public IP addresses.
First, enter the web of SV100, and start SV100 as a base station. Get the base coordinates and start it.
Second, enable Ntrip server.
- Set the Ntrip Server address and Nrtip Server port; this IP address must be 127.0.0.1, and the port need be mapped by router.
- Enter username and password
- Access point: enter the mountpoint
- Enable startup button, press OK to save the configuration
Then, set configuration of Ntrip Caster:
- Enter port, this port should be the same as Ntrip Server
- Enter Password, this password should be the same as Ntrip Server
- Enable Active button of Ntrip Caster, press OK to save configuration
Then enter the web of the router, mapping the receiver's internal port to the router's external port, such as 25001.
Then enter the DDNS account and enable it.
Finally, you can get the correction data via this account, making the rover get fixed.
