Tech Chat | How to make your RTK work with Mobile Topographer?

Different users have their own work habits and preferred software. In order to facilitate our vast user groups, our RTK products are compatible with common field surveying software and GIS software on the market. Today we will take Mobile Topographer as an example to see how we can make our Y1 GNSS receiver work with it.

Preparation:

  • RTK device, such as Y1 GNSS receiver, P1 GNSS receiver, T8 Pro GNSS tablet, etc.
  • Your preferred software, such as Mobile Topographer
  • SingularSurv or SingularPad software

To make SingularXYZ RTK devices work with other software, you only need to enable a small function in Singularpad or SingularSurv. In a previous blog, we've already introduced the steps of SingularPad, today let’s focus on SinguarSurv.

Step 1: Connect Y1 GNSS receiver with SingularSurv and get fixed solution

Open SingularSurv, and connect with Y1. Click Rover and create a new work mode, making it fixed. Here use PDA CORS as an example.

Step 2: Turn on mock location function

Go to setting, and enable Mock Location, which can share the coordinate information to your PDA device. Then other software can directly use the positioning data, like Mobile Topographer.

Step 3: Select SingularSurv as mock location app in your PDA device

If you are using SC100 data collector or T8 tablet, you need to take an extra step. Go to Setting >> System >> About phone >> Build number, quickly click it five times to enable developer options.

Go to developer options in your PDA system settings, and then go to select mock location app. Click and choose SingularSurv.

Step 4: Start your tasks

Open Mobile Topographer or other software, it will get coordinate information from your RTK device now.
