Today, let's take a look at the frequently asked questions during auto-steering.

Questions during auto-steering

Q1: The motor doesn't work after turning on the auto steering mode

Detailed description:
The electric motor does not work and cannot drive the steering wheel to turn automatically.

Solution:
① Go to the main interface and check the status. If the Motor Firmware shows error instead of version info, it means the motor is faulty and needs to be repaired.

② Go to the sensor type interface and check the median value base on your angle sensor type.

  • 90° angle sensor: median value=60°±10°
  • 120° angle sensor: median value=80°±10°
  • 360° angle sensor: median value=240°±10°

Turn the steering wheel to the left and the value should decrease, turn the steering wheel to the right and it should increase. If it is the opposite, you need to adjust the angle sensor inversion mode.

③ Go to the motor setting interface to check the motor control mode. It should be the speed mode.

④ If the motor was running normally before, but suddenly stopped, the configuration file may be lost. Try clearing the cache.

Q2: The software guidance icon moves backwards while the tractor is moving forward.

Solution:
The two GNSS antennas are installed reversed. You need to connect the left GNSS antenna to port 1 on the back of the T10 tablet and connect the right antenna to port 2.

Q3: Steering wheel turns in one direction.

Detailed description:
When the autosteer function is turned on, the steering wheel starts to turn in one direction to the limit.

Solution:
① Reason 1: You can try to manually drive the tractor forward, if the software guidance icon moves backwards, which means the two GNSS antennas are installed reversed, refer to Q2.

② Reason 2: There is a problem with the angle sensor setting. Refer to Q1-② to check whether the angle sensor is installed correctly.

Q4: The auto-steering mode automatically stopped

① The auto-steering mode stopped during startup

Solution: The tractor voltage is unstable. Add a voltage regulator module

② The auto-steering mode stopped during driving.

Solution: This is because the electric motor senses resistance and then switches from the automatic mode to manual mode, which means the level of the manual steering override is too sensitive. You can modify the manual steering override to 10.

Q5: Tractor cannot go straight to the line when start autosteer, resulting in some curves

Solution:
① When auto-steering is started, the forward direction of the vehicle should be parallel to the AB line.
② Vehicles should not be too far away from the AB line, which should be less than 30cm.
③ Check the parameters – sensitivity and rotating speed, modify according to your vehicle speed.
