How to Use T8 Pro Tablet with GIS software MyCumulus?

SingularXYZ has released the T8 Pro GNSS tablet months ago, as an ideal product for GIS application, we’ve received plenty of good feedback from the market. T8 pro tablet works well with different 3rd party GIS software from different users.

In this blog, we will take MyCumulus as an example to show how our T8 Pro works with 3rd party GIS software.

About MyCumulus GIS Software

"MyCumulus is a cloud-based solution for mobile data collection." Written on the official manual. And the real experience if you ever used their software is that MyCumulus is an expert solution for GIS data collection. It’s easy to use, as I tested, success collected the data without any problems. And another excellent feature is about their cloud-based, it will automatically backup my data to the cloud, never curious about data lost!

Preparation

Environment: Outdoor with open sky.
A T8 Pro GNSS tablet with SA180 GNSS antenna.
MyCumulus software installation.

The software can be download from GooglePlay Store.

Step 1: Connect to CORS network

After login the MyCumulus on T8 Pro, it will show the project you created on the Cloud. As pictures shown below:

Note: For the registration of MyCumulus Cloud and how to create project through their Cloud, please refer their manual.

To start your survey, first you need to connect to CORS: Click menu button >> NTRIP Configuration

Enter your CORS account information and then click Verify.

If succeeded, you’ll see Connected to XXX at the bottom of this interface.

Step 2: RTK Status Checking

Back to main interface, go to menu >> GNSS Info.

If the software is Receiving data and the status is RTK Fix as shown in following pictures, you can start your work now.

Step 3: Other settings

You can also go to menu >> Settings to modify settings as you need.

Step 4: Start your tasks

Click into the task you created in MyCumulus to enter survey mode, click to collect point data.

After measurement, click to upload the point to the cloud.

As you can see, with T8 Pro you can get the fixed RTK solution and centimeter accuracy for your GIS work. It's an excellent choice for your high-precision GIS projects.

Besides MyCumulus, T8 Pro also supports many other GIS data collection apps for your flexible selection, such as ArcGIS Collector, QField for QGIS, Mapit GIS, etc.
