How does P1 GNSS Receiver reach centimeter-level positioning with GIS software MyCumulus?

As a portable and wearable GNSS receiver, P1 is suitable for mobile and high precision applications. Some of our users are using P1 to collect GIS data. So how do we use our P1 with third-party GIS software to achieve centimeter-level positioning accuracy? In this blog, the software MyCumulus is used as an example.

About MyCumulus

MyCumulus is a Mobile Data Collection based on its own personalized forms. The data is saved in the cloud and can be retrieved in multiple ways.

MyCumulus provides all the features you need to collect your own data. The process: defining forms on a website, collecting data, and finally viewing and using your data. Personalized reports can be easily created and downloaded. The data, or a portion thereof, can be downloaded in Excel or in Pythagoras, a CAD and GIS-program for land surveying.

Your data in the cloud is accessible through an API, allowing developers to create, read, write and delete information depending on the access rights.

Preparation

  • Hardware: P1 GNSS receiver, SC100 data collector or other PDA devices.
  • Software: MyCumulus software.
  • Environment: Outdoor with an open sky view.

Step 1: Connect the Bluetooth

Enter the Settings interface of the PDA device to enter Bluetooth configuration.

Turn on Bluetooth and connect P1 GNSS receiver to your PDA via Bluetooth.

Step 2: Connect P1 with MyCumulus

Go to the MyCumulus software and click Settings in the upper right corner of the software.

Enable Admin's Setting, and select device information.

Step 3: Configure Ntrip mode

In the home interface, click the NTRIP Configuration and enter your CORS account.

Note: The PDA device requires Internet connection.

Step 4: Check GNSS information

Wait until the device status is fixed. Then you can start your work.

Simply achieve centimeter-level positioning accuracy with a wearable GNSS receiver, why not have a try? Just one device gives you the following benefits:

  • Centimeter-level positioning accuracy
  • Full constellation: GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo, QZSS and SBAS.
  • Portable design, as small as a smart phone
  • Provides SDK for customized development of third-party platforms.
