Tech Chat | How to Use U-Turn Function in SAgro-Series Autosteer Kits?
In the ever-evolving world of agriculture, precision and efficiency are key. The SAgro-Series autosteer kits from SingularXYZ are helping farmers around the world enter the era of precision farming and improve their farming efficiency and quality.
Normally, the autosteer kit can help free your hands from the steering wheel and obtain a centimeter-level pass on the route you set. However, farmers still need to manually turn around at the end of each path. Today, we will introduce how to use the U-TURN function, which allows tractors to automatically turn around and align with the next path line.
Step 1: Enable U-TURN Functionality
Open the PrecisionAg software in the SAgro-Series console tablet, navigate to the system settings >> Auto-Steering >> Settings, make sure the status of U-TURN function is Already opened as follows.
NOTE: Please make sure the automatic steering kit is fully installed and calibrated.
Step 2: Set Parameters for U-TURN
When click the U-TURN function, the setting interface will pop up. You can set up the following parameters according to your farm situation.
- Turning Radius: This parameter should be set according to the size of your tractor. A radius that is too small might prevent the tractor from completing the turn, while a radius that is too large could cause the tractor to deviate from the intended path. It’s advisable to experiment with different values to find the optimal turning radius for your specific tractor.
- The distance from the Border: If your plot does not have a defined boundary, set this value to 0. This ensures that the tractor turns in the right place without hitting the boundary.
- U-TURN Interval: This determines the number of empty lines between two path lines during the turn. For instance, setting the interval to 1 will leave one empty line between paths, while setting it to 2 will leave two empty lines. Adjust this setting based on your specific field layout and crop spacing requirements.
