Tech Chat | How to Transfer Your SingularPad License to a New Device?
SingularPad, a popular field surveying software from SingularXYZ, works seamlessly with all our RTK receivers and total stations, providing fluent work flow and abundant features. In the course of use, you may need to switch devices, such as when your Android PDA is damaged or you upgrade to a new one. Since the software's permanent license is tied to the device, you might wonder if you need to purchase a new license. This blog will guide you on how to transfer your license to a new device.
Method 1: Transfer the License from the Old Device (When It's Still Working)
If your old device is still functional, you can easily transfer the license to your new device using the software's built-in transfer feature. Follow these steps:
1. Transfer out SingularPad license on the old device
Open SingularPad on the old device, navigate to Project >> About Software, click on Transfer Out Code. This will generate a license code and a QR code for your software license. Be sure to save this code safely, as you'll need it to activate the software on your new device.
2. Activate SingularPad on the New Device
Download and install SingularPad on your new Android device.
Open the app and go to Project >> About Software, click on Software Activation, and you'll be able to either manually enter the license code or simply scan the QR code to transfer the permanent license to the new device.
Method 2: If the Old Device Is Damaged and Cannot Be Operated
If your old device is damaged and you're unable to access the software to transfer the license, don't worry. You can still recover your license by contacting our support team. Here's how:
1. Contact SingularXYZ Support Team
Reach out to us (support@singularxyz.com) with your order details, including your RTK device serial number (SN), order number, and any other relevant information.
2. License Reset
Our technical team will verify your order information and manually reset the license from the old device in our backend. We'll then provide you with a new license code for your new device.
Important Notes: Once the license is transferred or reset, the old device will no longer be able to use the SingularPad software. Be sure to carefully consider the transfer process.
