Tech Chat | How to Efficiently Manage Tasks Across Different Farms and Plots?

When using autosteer kits for daily farming tasks, it's common for farmers to work across multiple plots or even different farms. This often results in managing numerous guidance lines, such as AB lines or curve lines. For instance, one of our users has over 200 AB lines, making organization essential for efficient fieldwork.

In this blog, we will introduce how to effectively manage guidance line tasks by categorizing them under specific farms and plots.

Organizing Guidance Lines with Farms and Plots

With the SAgro-Series autosteer kit, newly created guidance lines are automatically assigned to Default Farm >> Default Plot in the software. To better organize your guidance lines, you can create separate farms and plots by following these steps:

1. Open the PrecisionAG software and navigate to Farm >> Farm, click Add Farm to create a new farm and name it accordingly.

2. Adding Plots and Setting Boundaries: Once you've created a farm, you can add individual plots within it:

Select the farm and click Add Plot to create a new plot. There are three methods for setting plot boundaries, but we recommend the Path method for the most accurate results.

Drive your tractor to the edge of the plot and click Start to begin recording the boundary. Drive along the plot's perimeter, and the software will automatically record the path. Once completed, click End to save the boundary.

You can expand the farm section in the software to view all plots under it. Click Details to check specific plot information.

3. Assigning Guidance Lines to Farms and Plots

After setting up your farms and plots, you can now create and manage guidance lines under their respective fields, ensuring organized and efficient navigation.

By structuring your tasks in this way, you can quickly locate, switch, and reuse guidance lines across different plots, saving time and improving workflow efficiency.
