GNSS Receiver
In laser surveying, users rely on the laser to accurately aim at the target point. While some RTK receivers support camera-assisted aiming to help identify and confirm the target—especially at longer distances—maintaining stable alignment still depends on how steadily the pole is held.
In practice, even slight hand movement can cause the laser point to drift, making it difficult to stay on the target and affecting both efficiency and accuracy. Previously, a bipod was often used to improve stability. However, it adds extra setup steps and reduces portability in the field.
To solve this, we introduced the Laser RTK Stabilizer—a lightweight and portable accessory designed to improve stability during laser measurements. This blog shows how to install and use it.

Installation is simple and quick.
Unscrew the original pole tip from the bottom of the survey pole, then screw the Laser RTK Stabilizer into place. Once installed, it replaces the standard tip and is ready for use.

The stabilizer supports two working modes, allowing you to seamlessly switch between laser surveying and standard pole surveying without changing accessories.
For laser surveying, unfold the three support legs and place them on the ground.
The stabilizer provides a damped contact point, which helps reduce hand-induced movement while still allowing tilt adjustments. This makes it easier to keep the laser aligned with the target, especially at longer distances.
Instead of trying to hold the pole completely still, you can make controlled movements to quickly aim and lock onto the target point.

Tip:
The damping level is adjusted using three screws located on the central damping ring. You can use the included hex key to tighten or loosen them to match your preferred handling—looser for smoother movement, or tighter for more controlled positioning.

When laser measurement is not needed, fold the three legs of the stabilizer.
The central tip will contact the ground, allowing you to use the pole in the same way as a standard survey rod.
The tip length is consistent with the original pole tip, so the pole height scale remains accurate. You can set rod height as usual without any additional adjustments.

Using the Laser RTK Stabilizer helps improve both efficiency and accuracy in laser surveying. It reduces the impact of hand movement and allows faster, more stable aiming.
At the same time, the dual-mode design lets you switch seamlessly between laser surveying and pole measurements, without changing the pole tip or interrupting your workflow.
The Laser RTK Stabilizer offers a simple and practical way to improve stability in laser surveying. By combining portability with better control, it helps users achieve more efficient and reliable measurements in the field.
